Why has the Council developed a Climate and Nature Strategy?

The science is clear that we need to urgently address the risks of climate change and the impact on the natural world. Local action is an important part of meeting this challenge. The Strategy establishes  a framework of key action areas around which the Council and our communities can significantly reduce our combined greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, whilst also enabling the recovery of the natural world upon which we depend.

How do l find out more about the Climate and Nature Strategy?

    • You can read the Draft Climate & Nature Strategy under the Documents section of the home page.
    • The Council is holding two engagement events in the town centre where you will be able to talk to Council Officers. Please see the key dates section for details.

How do l comment on the Strategy?

We want to find out more about attitudes to climate change in Harrow and how we can help scale local action. To contribute to this please complete the residents' and/or business surveys on the home page. At the end of the surveys there is an opportunity for you to offer any additional comments on the Strategy. All responses to the surveys will be considered as part of the development of the final Strategy. You can complete the surveys up until midnight on Sunday 3rd of September 2023.

Why are we asking for your postcode?

Your responses will remain anonymous and you will not be able to be identified from your postcode. It is nevertheless useful for the Council to inform the development of the strategy if we can understand local patterns within Harrow.

What happens after the consultation has closed?

The results of the consultation will be reported back to the Council's cabinet with the final Strategy for approval later this year.
