What is the West London Waste Plan?

The West London Waste Plan sets out how the seven West London Waste Planning Authorities; Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Richmond upon Thames, and the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) plan to manage waste related development across west London.

It is a statutory requirement to produce an up-to-date waste plan. The current plan was published in 2015 and the boroughs are now preparing an updated version to make sure it reflects national policy, the London Plan and local priorities.

The updated waste plan will contain policies used to determine planning applications for waste related development and safeguard sites that are currently in waste use. It will not cover, or have an impact on, bin collections, recycling days or changes to household services. When adopted, this updated version will replace the 2015 plan.
