Red Route to become permanent

Following a six-month trial, the Red Route in Rayners Lane will be made permanent.

The trial was introduced to help tackle congestion and road safety concerns in the area. Monitoring during the trial found that double parking reduced by around 80%, helping traffic to move more smoothly.

Feedback from residents and businesses, alongside monitoring of the trial, has helped shape the permanent scheme. Changes will include revised loading bay hours, the reinstatement of a taxi bay outside Rayners Lane Station and improved pick-up and drop-off arrangements on nearby streets where possible.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation and shared their views. Your feedback helped inform the final scheme.

You can read more about the trial, consultation feedback and the decision in the Cabinet report.
