West Harrow Park is a well-used community green space. However, many of its paths and facilities need upgrading to make sure they are safe, accessible in all seasons, and meet Green Flag standards for quality parks.

• A new formal path around the cricket ground to provide a safe, all-weather walking and running route.

• Upgrades to park entrances and key pathways.

• A redesigned and modernised children’s playground.

• Improved drainage to resolve flooding and water pooling issues.

• Further enhancements to make the park more welcoming for all users.

The Green Grid is a borough-wide programme that improves walking and cycling connections, enhances access to green spaces, and encourages healthier lifestyles. It funds projects like the new West Harrow Park path.

Main works will start in October and will hopefully be throughout Autumn and Winter when the park is less busy. 

Yes. While some areas may be fenced off for safety, most of the park will remain open. Walking routes will be available outside the work zones.

The improvements will create safer, more accessible paths, reduce flooding problems, and provide better play facilities. This means the park will be enjoyable and usable all year round.

Council Officers from various departments are working with the Friends of West Harrow Park and other local stakeholders, whose knowledge and community input are key to shaping the project.
