Welcome to the Tall Buildings (Building Heights) SPD engagement page.

Harrow Council's consultation on the Tall Buildings (Building Heights) SPD ran for seven weeks from 27 February to 17 April 2023. This consultation has now concluded. A report detailing the findings of this consultation will be published soon.

The draft Tall Buildings (Building Heights) Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) sets out the detailed guidance we want to bring in for planning applications proposing buildings which are tall, or contextually tall within suburban locations within the London Borough of Harrow. In doing so, it provides further guidance to policies within the Harrow Local Plan for proposals that are tall, or taller than the prevailing pattern of development in suburbia. The SPD only applies to areas outside of the Harrow & Wealdstone Opportunity Area.

The aims of this consultation are to:

  • Inform the community and build awareness of the purpose and potential implications of the SPD;
  • Undertake consultation on the SPD that is meaningful, inclusive and transparent to understand the community's views on the draft SPD;
  • Use that feedback to inform any appropriate changes to the SPD;
  • Feed back to the community to let them know that we have listened and acted on the information they have provided.

How to get involved

  1. Read the Draft Tall Buildings (Building Heights) SPD here.

  2. Let us know your views on the SPD by filling out the survey.

  3. Submit an email response to LDF@Harrow.gov.uk.
