Consultation has concluded

Welcome to the New Bentley Neighbourhood Resource Centre engagement page.

London Borough of Harrow's engagement will run for 8 weeks from Wed 9 August to 23:59 on Sunday 8 October 2023. The engagement period has now closed.

Background:

The vision of adult social care in Harrow is to deliver outstanding services that ensure everyone experiences wellness and quality of life.

We cannot do this alone, so it is important that we work with you - and a range of different people and organisations - in order to make this happen.

In Harrow, we are committed to co-production*

This means working together with different stakeholders. This includes everyone who has an interest in expanding services at New Bentley NRC including:

  • Existing users of the centre, their parents, carers and advocates
  • Staff who work at the centre
  • People who may want to attend the centre
  • Partners including voluntary, community organisations and health partners

Scheme Proposals: We want to make full use of all our resources. With New Bentley, we have the potential to enhance and improve its offer and create more of a health and wellbeing hub. It’s a key priority for the London Borough of Harrow to support those in need and improve the quality of life. Our plans aim to develop activities that better support service users and use the building more sustainably. By offering a more modern centre, we aim to create a welcoming safe space for Harrow residents.

There are no plans to close the centre or make cuts to the service.

We want you to have an opportunity to participate in the decision-making of the future use of the New Bentley Neighbourhood Resource Centre. This could involve leading or contributing to discussions about the future of New Bentley NRC and helping us to shape the new service.

The aims of this consultation/engagement are to:

  • Find out more about your current use of New Bentley
  • What you think about some of our ideas for improving New Bentley
  • Whether you would like to be involved more

What happens next?

At the end of the consultation in October we will write a report including everything you have told us about New Bentley NRC. We will then present this report to the Council's Cabinet for approval for the next steps. If approved, further work will then happen to make any changes and we will write to service users again. Any changes would not be made until Summer 2024 at the earliest. We will also update this page with the report and the timeline.

How to get involved

You can let us know your views by filling out the Survey below.

We will be holding face-to-face engagement sessions to talk about the future of New Bentley. These are in the Key Dates section.

If you require further clarification on the proposals, please email NRCs@harrow.gov.uk or call 07940 289735.

* The Care Act 2014 introduces the term ‘Co-Production’ this means working together with stakeholders. By stakeholders we mean everyone who has an interest in New Bentley NRC and creating a health and wellbeing hub.

This includes people who are already attending New Bentley, staff who work at New Bentley, parents and carers, people who may want to attend New Bentley in the future and other partners including the voluntary and community organisations, Health partners, Public Health and council officers and councillors.

In terms of what will change, this is where working together to make decisions is really important so that everyone is involved in that process.
