Harrow Parks and Open Space Strategy
Welcome to Harrow's Parks and Open Space Strategy 2025-2030 engagement page.
Our consultation on the draft Parks and Open Space Strategy will run for eight weeks from 19 May until 23:59 on 14 July 2025.
Introduction
We know how much our residents love our parks and open spaces. We have developed a draft Parks and Open Space Strategy and want your feedback to help shape the future of these important community assets.
It’s an exciting time for Harrow. We recently approved our new corporate plan and flagship actions to restore pride in Harrow and make our borough clean and safe.
To bring this vision to life, the Council is committing over £6 million over the next three years to enhance our parks. This investment will fund a wide range of improvements – including upgraded footpaths, entrances, signage, refreshed playgrounds, modernised buildings, and safer, more inclusive spaces for all ages.
A particular focus will be on play areas. We’re replacing outdated equipment, introducing new features, and installing high-standard safety surfacing. We're also making our parks cleaner and more welcoming, with the introduction of large litter bins in 12 parks, helping to reduce waste and create a better environment for all users.
We’re also working to increase the number of Green Flag parks in Harrow by a third and are determined to achieve our flagship action goal of nine Green Flag accreditations – the highest number Harrow has ever achieved. This is a key part of our commitment to making Harrow's parks even better for everyone.
Draft Parks and Open Space Strategy

To achieve this, the strategy focuses on five key themes for Harrow’s parks and green spaces:
Preservation and enhancement.
Quality and accessibility

Community.
