Pinner Section (Harrow to Pinner Cycleway Improvement Scheme)
Welcome to the Pinner cycleway engagement page.
London Borough of Harrow's consultation on revised proposals for the Pinner section of the Harrow to Pinner Cycleway will run from Monday 16 June to 23:59 on Monday 28 July 2025.
Background
The London Borough of Harrow, in partnership with Transport for London (TfL), is working to improve walking and cycling between Harrow Town Centre and Pinner Station. The Harrow to Pinner cycleway is about creating safer, greener, and more welcoming streets for everyone who lives, works or studies in the area.
It is also about improving connections to town centres, train stations, schools, parks, and bus stops. The biggest changes to the road layout are planned for Station Road (North Harrow) and Marsh Road (Pinner). However, improvements are planned along the whole route, including West Harrow.

What the scheme aims to do:
- Make it easier and safer to walk and cycle
- Improve access to local destinations
- Encourage short local trips on foot or by bike
- Add greenery and sustainable drainage to reduce flooding and boost biodiversity
- Help calm traffic and reduce the risk of collisions
- Enhance public spaces and support local businesses
What’s happened so far
During our 2023/24 consultation on the Harrow to Pinner Cycleway, Sections 1-3 of the route were well supported and are now moving to the next stage of design.
Many respondents felt that the original proposals for Section 4 could have a negative impact in Pinner.
As a result, the council agreed to withdraw and redesign this part of the route. In developing the new proposals we’ve engaged with local businesses, community groups and Pinner United Synagogue.
The updated proposals for Marsh Road is between Cecil Park and Station Approach.

The revised proposals for Section 4 of the route in Pinner include:
- A clear, continuous cycle track relocated to the east side of Marsh Road
- Retaining the service road and parking outside Jubilee Parade
- Additional parking and loading bays on the east side of Marsh Road, with updated restrictions to improve safety and traffic flow
- New and improved zebra crossings on Marsh Road and Station Approach
- Public realm upgrades – including improved pavements and new planting for a greener, more attractive street
